32/36 DFEV Jetting

Post by JMichel »

Hello everyone, I installed a 32/36 DFEV some time ago in my 78 to replace the non-functional 28/32 ADHA that was in it but unfortunately was not able re-jet the carburetor so it has been consuming large amounts of fuel due to it running rich.

i'm making this post to reach out to anyone in the Orange County area that might be willing to help me re-jet it correctly. I'm currently serving as a full-time intern at my church so I don't have much time to work on it and i don't have money to offer or to take it to a mechanic; and since this is my only car, makes it my daily driver to get to and from my church.

Any type of help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if i posted this in the wrong section, Thanks

What makes you think it needs to be re-jetted?? Carbs come from the factory with the proper jets. All engines run basicly the same fuel/air ratio. Unless you have something real wild going on, you should not ever have to change jets.
If it is indeed running rich need to take a look at other things first. Fuel pressure, choke adjustment, float level ( which again, should be fine from the factory) idle mixture etc.
