Engine specs for machine shop

Post by TulsaSpider »

Ok I am in a bit of a pickle. I spoke today with the machine shop and they don't have the specs they need on th 79 2L motor I have down there even though they have built them before... anyway.... My shop manual is for a 78 1800. I have searched quite a while on the net but came up with nothing. So can someone point me in the right direction? He has had this motor for a month now. When I brought it to him I said I was going to order the pistons so he could bore it out. he said no that's not how it works he needed to make sure the bores were ok we didn't want to order too small pistons, now he's changed his tune oh boy...
Thanks for the help if you need to email me directly it's celticclark123@aol.com

Hmmm, a machine shop should be able to find the specs. A real, qualified machine shop should be able to find the specs.

Nobody? The specs are usually located on the first page of the engine section of the repair manuals.

I have the specs in a 12mbyte pdf file, and could try to e-mail to you (first 50 pages of the engine section). I don't know if your or my e-mail server will accomodate such a large file, but willing to try. Send me your e-mail address, and we'll see what happens.

just a helpful hint: if the file is too large, try a website called "YOUSENDIT". I use this at work frequently when I need to send blueprints, etc. large files. this site essentially uploads your file and then sends a link to the recipient wheere they can go download.

basic service is free. they'll send you an e-letter twice a month.
