Can someone tell me the purpose of the hose on either side of the car between the back seat side partition and the fender. This is a '69 124 Spider Convertible. The hose goes from top to bottom. Any thoughts, thanks.

I thought I had heard it was to drain the floor boards for those with a passion to drive top-down during fierce downpourage

Actually this hose is clamped or anchored towards the top near the back of front seat headrest and is covered by the flap insided the side partition. May be for drainage around the back window area. Mine have been severed and am looking for replacement and how they got severed so it doesn't happen again. Thanks for the feedback.
