Fuel Filter info 1982 Spider

I have a 1982 Spider that does not want to run. I have tried just sabout everything. The fuel pump started leaking so I replaced and it seems to want to run. I think the filter may be restricted. he car will start with thepedal to the floor and then stop. It takes 3 weeks to get parts into the small town in BC Canada that I live so in the interim I want to put a jobber fuel filter on. Can anyone tell me if the outlet size of the filter is the same as the inlet size?? I can see if it is the problem without waiting 3 weeks

In my car, '85, it's same size, i replaced it yesterday. But are you sure that this is the problem? my car did the same one time and, after some check, i discovered that air filter hose was slack and my car always turn off, cause the flow air meter couldn't detect right air flow.

I agree with the above, it is not a fuel filter problem
