As mentioned elsewhere I picked up another RED '82. This one has an AT.
The AT is very finicky, doesn't catch first gear until you rev the car a little, sometimes it won't upshift to 2nd or especially 3rd, just revvs higher and higher, car moves A LITTLE faster. If I let off the gas, sometimes it shifts up, sometimes it doesn't. It feels like it "slips or skips" if I make a fast hard right turn (might be something else).
All lights work with the added feature that the emergency flasher button will flash on right turns.
The car starts right up. Then dies...unless I keep fluctuating the throttle. Holding it steady at say 2000 or 3000rpm, it will die. If I keep revving up and down for 1-2 min then it will allow me to hold a steady rpm but not idle. Finally, once it reaches 140 degrees, it will idle all day, no problem. Is this a function of the temp sending unit in the coolant tee?
Thanks
