OK, I bought the gear reduction starter from Marc, I have the bolts out of the old starter, the starter is out of the bell housing but I can't get it out down past the bell housing and crossmember. Is there some trick? I have turned the wheels so the steering arm is all the way over toward the driver's side of the car. The clutch cable seems to be in the way a bit but before I remove that I am wondering if there is some other way to get it out?
Thanks!
Dave

disconnect the clutch cable and get it out of the way. It's a tight fit, but the starter will wiggle out past the steering box and bellhousing. You'll have to stand the starter up vertically to get it out. Installing the new one will be a treat!
