I have an original 76 spider, red with tan interior, bought it about 12 yr ago, limped it home, and easily got it roadworthy. Initially I changed out all the safety stuff (brakes all around, ball joints, springs and shocks) It has been repainted once (20 yr ago) and has front seat covers, but otherwise still has original mats, wheels and caps. Other updates are radiator, alternator, coil, wires, etc.
In the 70's I restored an MGA. I loved the lines, and it was a fun car, but the Spider in that day was a more responsive sports car. I guess I liked them all along, so I finally bought a Spider. I bought it from the original owner, and have the full maintenance record. I have found it to be pretty dependable car. Starts easily every Spring. It had a small oil leak, but when I replaced the valve cover gaskets, the leak had stopped. Last year I put on 5000 miles, and got 27 mpg on the Interstate. What a fun fairweather ragtop. It rides well, but has a slight wiggle when the gas pedal is lifted, and this continues since all the suspension changes. I was told "Guibo", but have not gotten around to replacing that. Any ideas?

Hi, welcome to the forum.
If the guibo fails it causes major damage. They're not expensive, and pretty easy to replace, so I'd do it right away, if not for more than peace of mind.
Looking forward to pics of your car.

Welcome! Where exactly are you in WVA? I have a Fiat buddy in Parkersburg, right off Hwy 2 and I have family in Glenn Dale, near Wheeling.
