Fiat intermittently dies
Fiat intermittently dies
I just purchased a 1976 Spider with 41,000 miles on it in nice shape. It runs well but I've got a couple issues I need help with. First off the temperature gauge doesn't work. All of the other gauges do work, and although the hazard lights and turn signals didn't work I have fixed those. The biggest issue is that the last couple of days, it randomly dies when you come to a stop. The car has an electric fuel pump and it runs fine and will do 70 with ease but you come up to a stop and its like it forgets to idle and just dies. It does restart right up though. Other than that I've been driving it every day because I just love the sound of it.

Re: Fiat intermittently dies
For the stalling there is an electrical solenoid that screws in the side of the carb with its connector pointing towards the drivers shock tower. Make sure that solenoid is tight to the carb and the wire is plugged in. The temp sensor is on top of the head make sure its connected good. Post up with finds. brian
