Freeze plugs are out... A hammer and punch will work. Place punch at side edge of the freeze plug and apply hammer. It will drive the plugs sideways... Yank the old plug out with a set of pliers.

What's wrong with a light grey stock color or just plain black on the block? I'm just not into all the different colors under the hood.

Guys, Gals,

Not going/care for originality. Only want your opinion on which one looks best. Car is so far from original that it does not matter. I just want a cool looking engine and engine bay.

Sorry Jaime, your right, you did just ask which color we liked of the two. I think the dark blue(top pic) looks richer. 8)

You have no idea how many times I have read your thread, Budget 2.0 (2L) build . The more I read it the more I think that the title of the thread is now obsolete  :P . Lots of great info in there. Best of luck with the build. Image

Personally I like the light blue for the block. It looks clean and professionaly done. The darker semi-gloss blue looks like it was painted with a rattle can in someones driveway (yes, i know it was painted with a rattle can in your driveway :D ). Your not going to see much of the block once its in the car so you might as well go with the lighter color so the engine compartment POPs!
