Yes, painting the block. I am thinking blue since the rest of the car is blue, but maybe do two hues of blue, head I plan to just clean well and leave it silver...red107 wrote:Jaime,
Just curious you plan on painting the block? I wish I would of done mine.
OK. Need to find out who carries those in brass, so far the ones I have seen for the recommended vendors are not brass.BEEK wrote:great progress, as to the freeze plugs, source the new ones first, i recomend brass
I believe they are 41 mm. The local jobber store here has boxes of the things, don't know about brass ones though. Why brass? easier to install? corrosion?BEEK wrote:you can get brass freeze plugs from napa, putting them in yourself is easy. the size fiat uses is an industry standard, meaning easily obtainable
Chris, has to be for corrosion avoidance. The ones in the car, you can see they are rusted, and that is just the ouside, can't imagine what they would look like on the inside if this engine did not have coolant at all times... On my way to the local Napa store to check if they have them. Let me see how I can get one out quickly to take with me just in case.narfire wrote:I believe they are 41 mm.
