Don't they have any incentive to stay in school? Down here, kids are not allowed to get their driver's license unless they stay in school. If they quit, they have to give their license up until they graduate or until their 21 years old.

As far as who to blame for the mess we're in, I think we can safely spread and share. We cannot give full credit to the Republicans or the Democrats, no matter how hard we try.

Sounds like a real dogs breakfast to say the least. I do hope there will be some politicians that truly want to change things and make decision makers responsible for their actions. Reading in some of the news magazines there are some states down there that have tried to keep things in control but with a state that has the 8 th largest economy in the world (Cal.), the self serving buggars can screw things up in a hurry. I think this is true everywhere,we've certainly had that up here.
Things can always be worse ( breakdown just before a fiat run?)
When the weather is warmer come on up for a tour, your dollar is $1.20 cdn at the moment.( but gas is $.93 cdn/L)
I was looking into a few spiders and mg's, triumphs and perhaps renting them out to visitors in the summer. A place in Van rents ferrari I believe.

here's one benefit to the USA from Calif
California crops

More than half of the country's vegetables, fruits and nuts are grown in the Golden State.
Only in California
Products exclusively grown in the state include almonds, artichokes, dates, figs, kiwifruit, olives, persimmons, pistachios, prunes, raisins, clovers and walnuts.

Land of dairy
Milk and cream are the top commodities, bringing in at least $3.7 billion a year.

Nation's salad bowl
While California leads the nation in strawberry production, it also grows a large percentage of other crops. Among them:
•Artichokes: 19 percent
•Asparagus: 55 percent
•Broccoli: 93 percent
•Cabbage: 22 percent

Pot is the main crop here in N.CAL, but the economy seems to be doing pretty well here. I guess people always have money for dope. The other day I sold a farmer over $10,000 worth of accessories for his new FJ Cruiser. Supercharger, lift, winch, ARB bumpers, roof mounted ARB tent, etc, etc. The dude pulled a huge stack of stinky money out of his backpack. Of course he bought the stuff at two seperate times, don't want to have to report an over $10,000 transaction.

Pot's also a big commodity in the NC mountains. Heck, they outlawed moonshine...what are the poor mountain people supposed to do?
