Instead of welding it, why not make it a pinch bolt, and have an adjustable sway bar? This is exactly how our BMW race car is designed ... it's just a bar, with a split collar on it, and a pinch bolt that locks it in place. Moving it an inch on either side can be quite effective.

Nope. The turning of the wheel loosens the nut on both sides.
The turning of the wheel (car going forward) LOOSENS, correct?
I couldn't sleep last night with this rolling around in my head... Feeling like an idiot second guessing myself
Ok, my bad. I hope I didn't put mine on wrong. I would think it would be better to have them tightening rather than loosening. But with the proper flat washer neither should happen.

The honest truth? I didn't know better. But, with the joints threaded doesn't that count for some adjustability?
In any case, I just didn't like the stock twisted lower bracket and this will work great for my use, and it's done!
And I whipped out the red can again...

You realize that Alan is going to start attending meets with one of those mirrors used to check for undercar explosives... And FFO he'll bring his own 8ftx12ft mirror to place face up and park on....

Ha ha ha, not happening!
I'll guarantee that the seal on the front of the differential is not perfect and that oil and grease fly from assorted places...
I just like making stuff! Half the things I am doing to this car are not necessary, just fun to do.
I do have a problem with my sway bar joints. They run up about 30 degrees and the lower heim joint binds. So, I'm going to cut the brackets back off the lower A-arm and make new ones with the pivot turned 90 degrees. That should allow full travel.
