Last Spring I had a choice for Father's Day: golf lessons (badly needed), or a new tool chest combo. Chose the tool chest, which replaced about 8 boxes/satchels of various tools plunked around the garage. I figure I've saved something north of 6 hours on the Fiat alone just not wandering about trying to find a specific tool.

I'm also noting a definite increase in available space as parts leave their shipping boxes and find homes on the car . I'm going to try for that comfy cluttered look in the workspaces, avoiding an OCD like sterility. After all, it's where I relax!

your garage must have been pretty messy if cleaning it up revealed a workbench.

New workbench appeared at the front door..... However - I did uncover the old smaller workbench

I try like crazy to be organized



I have a great chest to keep everything in... If I actually stop long enough to put it there.

Not too long ago, I picked up this one to keep electrical stuff organized in.



My biggest fault is getting moving so fast that I misplace stuff that I am currently working with, right under my rag...

Now I'm done messing with that transmission!! For a while...

I got them busted down and in the cleaner for a soak.



The a-arms are going in the bin but I have to salvage the spindles.
All I have to remember is the passengers side is the reverse thread right?

Nope, the drivers side is the left handed thread. If you could media blast those parts they would look like new.

Don't mess with me Dennis! Wait, does the sway bar mount behind the cross member?

I wish I had access to a media blaster but... No, so like everything else, I'll hit the spindles with a scotchbrite disc in the driveway.

Nope. The turning of the wheel loosens the nut on both sides.

The turning of the wheel (car going forward) LOOSENS, correct?

I couldn't sleep last night with this rolling around in my head... Feeling like an idiot second guessing myself

"as if tightening the nut is in the opposite direction as the wheel's normal
forward rotation.

the right wheel rotates clockwise when going forward, as viewed from outside
the vehicle. the right spindle nut should tighten by a counterclockwise
rotation.

the left wheel rotates counterclockwise when going forward. the left spindle
nut should tighten by clockwise rotation."

I thought I was losing my mind there for a bit!
