I figured it would be best to have some items ceramic coated instead of having to upkeep the polish.

As I was working on the hood preparing it for paint. I looked at the car and thought, Lets see how easy it is going to be to sand. So there I go. I did the rear top quarter and thought wow, this is easy. Then I noticed how easy it was. I sanded right down to the high build primer. I guess using a hard block sander at this point isn't the right tool. I tried to explain to my painter to get his opinion. But I don't think he understood how the body's are on these cars. Not much is really flat. It's mostly curves. I was thinking of using a sanding block sponge with the sand paper below it. What do you think? I tried it and it was a lot better to control. My painter was saying if I use that, then it won't be flat. What have you all used? Now I have to spot prime it. At least I have some other things to prime still.

Yesterday I did most of the priming. So today I was able to finish a couple things I've been wanting to do. My spare which is an Iron Cross rim is getting its clear. I had media blasted it a while back and painted Epoxy primer on the entire center. Today I took a die grinder and cleaned off the raised areas. I did that in about 15 minutes. Problem was though I couldn't leave the outside blasted and the raised portions polished looking. So I spent another 45 min. cleaning up the outside by hand. 400 grit. To top it off using a fine sanding sponge to even everything out. Tried to cut the tire off. Ain't happening.
I also painted my jack and handle red. I wanted it to stand out.

I spent 8hrs today on the car. I prepped the front half. Tomorrow I'll do the back.

The car is ready to go to the painter. Man is it cold outside!

This month definitely feels like Xmas. What really feels good too is the fact I can see my tool board and can put the tools back in their spaces. I cut the painting tent in half. I would like to remove it but I figure it would be a good idea to keep it up just in case I want to paint/powder coat something. I have about 4 or 5 top frames. I want to clean them up and powder coat them for resale. So now it's time to get the pizza oven going.

Today the car is in the paint shop. I might be able to see the color on it this Thursday. I can't wait.

Car is painted and some of it is buffed. The color is awesome. It looks different in different lighting. You can see the copper coming through in the paint booth. This still needs buffed. Then you don't see it so much outside. It will depend how the light hits the car. The paint has metal flake in it and it looks great. The pic's can't pic it up.He still has to do the little things like the dash and rocker panels.
