Papa, so far the only time I towed the trailer was up to Oregon 08 and I had to tow the car back, so the trailer is still up in Washington waiting for me to take my mom's car back to her. I take the hitch off except when I'm towing, it only takes about 2 minuets. The wiring is a standard 4 prong trailer connector, but inside the trunk, hidden behind the trunk liner is an adapter we have to use because our turn signals are separate from the brake lights.

How it's made:
The galvanized plate goes in the trunk under the spare to reinforce the sheet metal of the car. There is a square reinforcing tube under the car that is dead center, I drilled through it and the trunk floor (after taking out the spare). Two 2-1/2" bolts go on the back of the hitch, and a 3" bolt goes through a hole I drilled in the bottom tube of the bumper.
The trailer I tow is very lightweight and the car has no problem with it. I drove the first day 8 hours and it was practically not noticible.
The overheating I experienced the second day was not related to towing.

I like it and it looks professional too. Up here I would have to do something about the hole thru the lower chrome tube as it would rust ,,but still doable .. don't plan on any long distant travels but to go camping say at Swift resivoir close by would make the trailer just right for the job.. thx again there Ron -------papa

I considered some kind of clamp system on the tube, but rust being no problem here, went with the bolt. I'm looking for a rubber plug that will fit the hole though.
And yes, I've replaced all four badges, the hood and trunk "Fiat" from Spider-Point. and the side "F" from Mark Allison (http://www.fiatspiderparts.com/) Other than that it was get all the lights working, the wiring behind the console, install the new top and a lot of clean up from it's having sat in a garage for over five years, being used as a storage shelf.
Oh, and a couple minor mechanical things, like a rebuilt tranny from Jon Logan (http://www.midwest124.com/)
