LOL... after weeks of arguing with the insurance adjusters, they have offered me 1800 dollars for my car. Thats right, i dont have to work for the rest of my...... day. The car has a good interior, and an excellent paint job (6 months old), and all mechanicals were in working order.

Has anyone ever dealt with adjusters before on Fiats? Any advice. i deserve more than 1800.

It seems to me you may need a lawyer. As bad as I would hate getting involved with one the way I look at it, you were not at fault, she was, can the insurance co find you a spider in as good of shape with a 6 month old paint job for 1800 ? I think not. I would fight them tooth and nail while I drove a rental around at there expence. Are you starting to have neck pains?

When dealing with adjusters, it doesn't matter what kind of car you're dealing with. Their job is to pay you as little as possible. Keep fighting. Scour Fiat adds and find a few that are very close to being a "direct" replacement of your car. Make it clear that you won't settle for less than what it would cost you to get a "duplicate" Spider in the current market.
You can always take them to small claims court and avoid the cost of an attorney. In most states you can sue for up to $10K in small claims.

Maybe the adjuster is a secret Fiat fashionisto watching this forum and saw that you want to put a Jap 4ag5Ehb-lmnop enigine in a Fiat - this may be his way of stopping you from doing it.

In all seriousness - I'm with kmac33's comments, take it to small claims, these insurance companies look for easy targets all day long.

This infuriates me to hear, firstly of your misfortune and secondly of the way these inconsiderates are treating you.
Don't let these guys get away without a fight.

WOW that's cheap Joe!

Over here the best I could find was Shannons car insurance who specialise in older and collectable vehicles.
Agreed value of $17,850 if totalled or stolen.

Full cover cost me $410 including taxes.

Sure, a bit hefty but this includes:
My choice of repairer.
Lifetime guarantee on repairs.
Towing and storage costs.
Reimbursement for a hire vehicle - up to 14 days.
Theft of tools and personal items whilst in the vehicle.
Emergency accomodation following an accident or theft.
I also included:
First salvage rights on the vehicle if totalled or recovered totalled from theft.

Problem is like what Clark is enduring at the moment - If the other car/driver is at fault one is at their insurance company's mercy.

Have you checked the intake gasket? I am far from being an expert but there may be a leak in the gasket? just check it or run bars leak in the system

His car was totaled in a wreck so he is no longer having overheating problems. Just insurence company problems .

If the coolant is gone it's going somewhere, it does not evaporate. There is either a leak or it's going out the tailpipe. I've seen "hot" leaks where it pisses out when driving and stops. This is caused by the natural vacuum that occurs when heat is removed from the engine when you turn it off. Next time you drive it, keep the radiator cap loose to prevent cooling system pressure, note level before and after driving it to operating temperature. Make sure that the cooling fan starts up or works. Also check to see if there are stains from the weep hole on the water pump as well as verifying you have coolant circulation. You can see this at the radiator fill neck. A pressure test is in order hot and cold to find leaks. There is also a piece of equipment called a block test. This is basically a litmus test with chemicals that detect products of combustion in the cooling system. I would assume that any garage in town has this equipment, my shop does. Good luck.
