I had a long meeting with my upholstery buddy today and left my seats with him. He will do perforated tan leather in the center and non perforated around the perimeter. He is ordering material for dash and door card etc. very exciting day!
Then I went about cleaning up and finishing the assembly of my transmission.
It was suggested that I paint the trans red so I compromised...
I will do a little more cleaning on the casing and leave it natural.

Now that you mentioned it Allen, I remember Andy's wife on the outside of the group in a plume of smoke but can't recall any details. He may have just started his car.
One day maybe we can all get together, you think we could get Jim there? When Beek finishes his car he will have no excuse. Your car is looking good, when you get done is it gonna just be a trailer Queen or are you going to DRIVE it?

Thanks Jim! It takes a long time to do things RIGHT! If I wasn't so interested in the project and making something special, I would be driving this thing by now.
Thanks Dennis! No trailer queen here, I plan on driving it like I stole it!! All the way to Texas next spring!

That's a great aesthetic. I always felt that rough-cast aluminum should stay bare (and rough) and sheet-metal could be painted. I think the red pan is a nice accent.

oh she does
Dennis - if we all get together... watch out.... Beek's shown me how to dismantle a transmission in <20 mins... I'm sure that I could do that upside down with Alan standing watch.... nothing smoother than an empty gearbox....

Thanks Redline! And Andy, glad to hear that you are on board!!
I spent the evening cleaning half...
That's it, I'm done! Tomorrow I'll do the other half and will have 10 hours more into the car then necessary!
Who am I kidding...
Any more than that and I consider it too polished.

That's good Andy, I have two that need work and now I know who to go to. Alan, I'm with Jim. By the time you get to Texas all that shine will be gone. Get it together so it can be shown before spring. I do have something to shine it back up for the trip home

I hear ya Dennis! It's going to be clean and sweet for about 30 minutes! Csaba already had his laugh about me washing the bottom of the car, it's all good when it gets dirty! At least it will be my dirt!
In all seriousness, it's a toss up... I can't stomach the idea of starting out dirty but have no issue with it getting that way...
