i couldn't figure out what was up with my speedometer cable.... it just wasn't long enough.. then it hit me.. it's an 81 body and all my stuff is for early cars.... so since the cable wasn't long enough to go up top through the firewall, i took the heater core back out so i could drill the hole in the transmission tunnel.... worked out good.. it took a while because i couldn't remember where the hole in the tunnel was. after about an hour of googling images, i finally found a picture of a spider on a rotisserie.

since my car is back at the painter (hopefully he'll get it right this time), I decided to pull the interior out and get it ready to go in when i get the car back. I had forgotten just how good of shape it was all in. I guess that's one benefit of going through so many cars until i finally found the right one to restore. I got to keep the best stuff... it needs a good cleaning, that's for sure...
