Hey Lamar,
The shock tower fix is not uncommon on these cars.If you do a search here,you can find some info.I know Manoamatt posted a really good tutorial on how to do that,a while back.Dont be afraid to ask someone on this site to look at a car for you,if it is a long ways from your home.Everyone here loves to look at other peoples cars,or spend someone elses money! If I had known of this forum,I could have asked Denise to look at the car I bought.I live 250 miles from where the car was,she lives about 5!! Good luck.

Welcome to the site! I would personally steer clear of any car with rust issues. It is expensive/time consuming to fix, and it is almost always cheaper to pay more for one that does not have rust issues. These cars are not rare, so be patient and you will find the right one.

I bought our 1973 124 sedan on Ebay, and it was as good as it looked and the owner, a FIAT junkie, represented it well. Really depends on the seller. If the seller is a FIAT fan, the car will more likely be properly represented. Many owners don't anything about the cars and don't really know what the problems may be. Also - the car will always look better in photos than in really is. "Eyes on" really does help, although I only saw mine in photos.
