So. Cal. X'ers, let's rally around this event. On June 14th the "Friends of Steve McQueen Car Show will be held on the site of "Boys Republic", 3493 Grand Avenue, in Chino Hills CA 91709, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Proceeds will go to "Boys Republic" Steve was a resident of this facility and a strong supporter of it later in life. Several cars and motorcycles owned by McQueen will be displayed at the show, and cars from various sports car clubs will also be featured, as well as live music and In-N-Out Burgers. for more information, call Ron Harris at (562) 755-8405 or e-mail hrh@betbev.com


All Xer's who would like to gather first then caravan over to Boys Republic are welcome to rally at my place-(Ed DeCarbo's home) first, between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. The run over will take only 15 minutes. Those who wish to return to my place are welcome to do so for some BBQ around 11:30 a.m. Ed DeCarbo, (909) 860-6906, or email me (jeepered@verizon.net) re: your intentions and I'll give you my address and you can Mapquest or GPS me.


The short and long of it is: Spectators, $10.00, no charge for parking, to show a car, call Ron Harris and it'll cost $20.00 per vehicle plus $10.00 per passenger.

I got my radiator back from the shop late this afternoon. It's installed and seems OK. I'll try to make it to the show tomorrow after dropping Maureen and Ashley off at the LAX airport (7 AM flight). Don't know if I can fit all of us and their luggage in the spider, but we're going to try.

I believe Gary Poage will be there with his '69 spider, also. If everything goes as planned, we'll be there pretty early, probably at the opening time. See y'all there!

What a great day! We had 14-15 (I forget) cars show up to go the the car show. About 1/2 X's and 1/2 Spiders. We gathered at Ed and Barbara DeCarbo's who also hosted a BBQ after the show. The pictures on the street are at their place, lining both sides of the street. The line of Fiats (and two Ferraris) were the first thing you saw as you entered. The Porsches are from the club that sponsered the event. I hope someone got a picture of the little red Hillman pick up with a Chevy V8 stuffed under the hood! I couldn't resist a shot of the triplet Cobras. Quite a few different marques represented there today, and all for a really good cause.
And a double batch of potato salad is just a memory.

yes, it was nice meeting a lot of new people this weekend.i haven't been on a fiat run in a while,i had a blast in reys x1/9
. hopefully i can get my x1/9 running here in the next few months.
