Re: Heater valve replacement
I have mine out and apart ('79), and am waiting for my new valve - how did you lubricate the blower motor? Did you have to take the fan blade off?

I cheated, I'm not good with electrics so I took it to an auto electrician to clean and service it. Works real smooth and quiet now.

Re: Heater valve replacement
So here's an interesting question and wondering if anyone else has picked this up and also if it matters. I am putting the new heater valve in and noticed that the mechanism works in the reverse to how the original did. On the new valve, the spring holds the valve in the closed position so that the cable pushes against the spring to open the valve. To close the valve the cable pulls the lever in the same direction as the spring. it seems odd, but it makes it harder to open the valve and way easier to close the valve. Does any of that make sense??

I didn't notice that on mine - but I bought the replacement valve from Auto Ricambi, maybe a different one than you have. I would say if it works, no worries!
