Re: Emergency! won't start out of the blue
My money is on a control circuit being the culprit. If there was spark at the plugs, it would at least fire. So, do your dash gauges get power with the switch on? I think you may have a blown inline fuse for the dual relay . It's the brown with white wire in line fuse up behind your fuse box. Or it's a failing dual relay. If the fuse is OK, give the dual relay a couple taps to wake it up.
Hey, couldn't hurt, and it's cheaper than a mechanic.

Have you checked the in line fuse? If it's blown the ECU gets no signal that it needs to go to work.

Looks like checking the fuses is next on my list

Good luck. Let me know if you end up needing help finding the right fuse. Mine was kind of hard to locate, a PO had stuffed it up out of sight and I was having the same problem you are. Car wouldn't start. I finally decided that the only thing left was to find the bugger that I'd looked for several times. When I did find it, sure enough, the fuse was toast. Put a new one in and the car started immediately.

Looks like all my fuses are pretty darn new... its all good down there
So back around to finding the reason my fuel pump doesn't want to work...

Re: Emergency! won't start out of the blue
turns out my fuel pump just died on me...
So I made an order to vicks for one of em, and decided to change the plugs and wires and ign rotor and distrib cap while I was at it
Fingers crossed it will start when I'm done haha

You should've ordered an extra pickup while your were on a buying frenzy. It's always good to have one stashed.

Okay so I installed spark plugs wires fuel filter and pump and new rotar in the .... but it seems that the fuel pump wasnt the problem
it still wont turn on and I a suspecting it is an electrical problem, any ideas why there is no power to the fuel pump?

Hey Leefer
How do you know the power isnt feeding to the pump did you put a ohms meter on it ? i would check that
before going on a wild goose chase and how about the spark ? I know Mark told you about the AFM needing
to open .

Re: Emergency! won't start out of the blue
I know there is no power to the fuel pump because I connected the pump to another source of power and it worked fine, it just doesnt turn on when I turn the key to the ON position
It coule be something else completely, but I am at a loss right now... I tried the AFM flap and the sparks all work

Re: Emergency! won't start out of the blue
the pump will not run just by turning on the key ! it need to be told to run from the FI system that's why opening the AFM
is needed if no pump sound try the ohms meter at the pump would be the easy ways to start your trouble shooting . Also
go back to the TPS where that plug u played with unplug look inside to see if the contacts are good then take a omhs
meter and see if the wires are making complete circuit .

Re: Emergency! won't start out of the blue
when you turn the key to on the pump should start up shouldn't it? Even if just for a few seconds, I tried opening the flap but I'm ganna have to start probing wires now to trace it
Re: Emergency! won't start out of the blue
check for power from the dual relay to the pump, and check for pump ground at the left rear taillight
Re: Emergency! won't start out of the blue
where is this infamous dual relay? I've looked through manuals and it seems to evade me
