Now that it's running, before you touch any carburetor adjustments.
Put a timing light on it and set your ignition timing.
Then once that is set, go about tweaking the carburetor as required.

It sounds as you need to rule out a bad intake valve with a compression test otherwise your going to be frustrated since it's acting like it has a vacuum leak which you can check via hooking up a vacuum gauge to see if you are in good range (18-22psi i believe)
