I fought a similar problem for quite some time, just the other way around. After running for a while the gas leaving the tank was not being replaced by any air. Therefore, I ended up with negitive pressure in the tank. I replaced all the hoses and valves, checked that it was set up correctly with no luck. It was still the same. Finally drilled a 1/8th inch hole in the gas cap and haven't had an issue for over 4 years. I'm sure it's not 100 correct, but it sure works!

I did the same, drilled a small hole in the center of the gas cap when I was having trouble starting her when warm & got a vacuum in the tank. problem solved "old school"

I memory serves my mechanic drilled a very small hole in my gas cap after he replaced my fuel tank last summer. Again, going by memory, he said it was the easiest solution to the change in venting between the original tank and the replacement. In any case there have been no running issues not any additional smell of gas.

Call them before ordering. The description is "for use with mechanical fuel pumps" which your car definitely does not have. A functioning evaporative emissions system will have a slight pressurization. As suggested, if the car runs OK with the filler cap loose, then there's a problem somewhere in the evap system. Your problem is unusual; most of the time the failure mode is a suction on the cap, not a push.
