the block was most likely swapped. As I recall there was a difference in the blocks where the mounting casting was for the air pump.

This engine that I removed from a crashed low mile 85.5 spider was also stamped LANCIA.

Thanks again everyone. I removed the valves and lapped them. The exhaust had smoe pitting that cleaned up pretty good. Installed new valve seals while everything is apart. Will clean the threads in the block as suggested. Everything just takes me longer than I want.
