Two problems today, aux shaft bearing...

Hi all. I was inspecting my motor today, as I am almost ready to begin assembly and I saw that the aux bearing is bad in the front. So is these something I can knock out and replace myself? I don't see any vendors that currently have them in stock... any ideas there?
Part 2. I was trying to get the yoke off the driveshaft so I could replace the bearing and support. No luck. I have a gear puller but it just slips off.

those aux shaft bearings are hard to come by, and they have to be reamed for proper clearance when you install new ones

I'd have to go look at a torn down motor, but is that bearing really bad?? That looks, to someone who doesn' know what exactly a fiat aux shaft bearing looks like, like the bearing is fine. Where in the picture is the damage??

Hi Clark,
No1. that aux bearing looks good.
No2. I assume you have the shaft out..if so, try using your puller with only two arms instead of three as this makes it easier to centralise because the edges you are trying to grip on are of different radius. Keep the shaft sturdy like in a vice when when putting load on your bearing puller so it dont move all over the place.

Is is supposed to have the huge gash with a hunk taken out of the side? I mean if it won't really affect anything I won't worry about it. The last thing I want to do is pull it all back apart after a few hundred miles...

I thought the same things as Fi8Spider and Majicwrench when I looked at your picture. I can't see anything abnormal in the picture. The 'huge gash' shown in the picture is an oil passage for lubrication. The 'hunk taken out the side' is clearance for a cross-machined passageway for the block mounted distributor. The clearance free play of the shaft should be about .001" - .003" if I recall correctly. If the clearance is OK, and the bearing surface cleans up good, and the surfaces on the Aux shaft also look good, I wouldn't change anything.
