Hello all -
Glad to be part of the Fiat community again. My Fiat sits waiting for me to pick up - and I tried to get it yesterday but the old Suburban gave out halfway there and I had to abort the pickup. Will try again soon.
It's a '79 Spider with 40K - California car that has been sitting inside since it was moved here in '89. Should be a good start for a restore.
I look forward to helping those I can - I have raced Formula Fords and MGB's for many years and now it's time for a nice street car for the summers with my wonderful wife.
Thanks to those that work this board - it's appreciated by all I'm sure.
Pics as soon as I can.
Happy New Year.

Welcome to the site. Doesn't that just get you. Your excited to go get the car and your other car breaks down. At least you know it's not going anywhere. It will be fun to watch you restore your car. Are you going for a rolling resto. or a full restoration. This is a good place to be. The people here are great! If you ever need help with anything, you'll find it here.
Looking forward to seeing your car.
Happy New Year and be safe!

Thanks for the welcome. I plan for a full restoration - but on a short budget. That is why I have waited so long to find just the right car. Structurally it is as solid as I've seen but I want to make some changes to add rigidity to prepare for increased power and a stiffer suspension. I want to put my money into these areas rather than have to repair all kinds of structural rust.
I've been looking arond the site for info on FI and suspension mods - haven't found too much yet but hopefully when I have more time I will find something.
I have fixed the Suburban and will be going to get the car on Tuesday - so keep your fingers crossed for me!
