Hi Everyone;
This past winter I swapped the 28/32 ADHA carb from my 79 automatic spider. It went great. The carb I put on was the 32/36 DFEV Weber.
What a difference. Car pulls and runs great. For the first time this spring I took the car on an extended ride about 1.5 hrs. Towards the end of the the car would stall out at traffic lights when I came to a complete stop. It would start right up no problem. But then would stall again when I came to another stop.
When I first start the car from being cold the car will idle rough about 200 RPM almost to a stall but not quite. When the car is warmed up it idles between 700 to 900 RPMs.
Okay one other thing, After the ride I let the car cool down about 10 minutes and started up again, pulled it in the garage and no problems It idled at 700 to 900 RPMs.
Is this a carb issue, maybe I have not tuned it properly or is this something else?
I should mention this happened to me one other time with the old set up, but I was in a parade for over an hour going at about 5 mph so I thought that could of been the problem.
Thanks for any help.
Stalling
i think the stock warm engine spec is 750 rpm's.
What is your timing set for? try 10 Degrees BTDC, on a warm idling engine.
is the electric choke working properly? and did you hook up the distributor vaccum?
I love my new carb too, Tony. Unfortunately, speedometer cable issues are keeping me from any extended drives right now.
