Got some stuff put back together. I took the hinges, mirrors, and reverse lights apart so they can be painted.

I thought it was time to take everything off the shelves and in the boxes to see exactly what I have. Boy it's so depressing to see I didn't media blast everything while it was warm. I have so much that needs done.
I need to take a break.

It's my daughters birthday on the 17th. She's going to be 10. I want to make her something from her daddy she could possibly still have later in life. Here's what I came up with. She got a guitar for Xmas. She was so excited about it. I thought I would make her something she could put on the wall next to it. I'm about half way done. I have to get this pizza oven done so I can powder coat it.

Wow! She is going to love that! Congratulations on her birthday!!!

My daughter turns 13 on that same day (Jan 17). She has been learning to play the guitar for the last year. Here is a video of her practicing. Still has a long way to go, but as a proud Dad, I just love to sit and listen to her play:

and also sing:

They grow so fast. Here is a video from two years ago of her singing the Star Spangled Banner

Yup, proud Dad :D

Brady,

Could you do a post explaining the media blast equipment you are using with maybe a link to the product on their website? It's really neat seeing what you did to clean up those parts. Got me wanting to "blast" something.

Hi Eddie,
The media blaster I bought was a Clarke. They went out of business. There are others out there the same size. I've seen one at harbor freight. Here is one for $59. When the tip of mine needed replaced, I bought the accessories there and they worked fine. I would get this one. http://www.harborfreight.com/20-lb-capa ... 40925.html
I used a swimming pool screen to filter the used media so I could reuse it. The media I used was from New Age Media.
http://newageblastmedia.com/ This is some good stuff. You don't want to get anything with silica in it.
When I blasted, I used the medium media. It is just right and when it breaks down, It's like using fine media. So I did the rough stuff first. I made a box with sides, no bottom, and did the blasting outside the front of my garage. I put a tarp down and hardly wasted any media. Just make sure you lay a piece of wood on the bottom. My neighbors are about 150' away on each side. So there wasn't an issue. I'm trying to make a blast cabinet. The metal is really strong. It's giving me a hard time. I have the bottom cut. I just have to finish it. I jump around on projects so I don't get burnt out. Good luck! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :P

That is awesome Brady!

So it is sort of like using a pressure washer on your deck? Just different media?

As far as media - let's say 20 lbs of it - how far can you stretch that? What is a good part for example that you could clean with 20 lbs of media?

You can get a 40 or 50Lb bag for about $10. I would get at least three. It will take about two to fill the container. Then you'll have the third to throw in and you won't have to clean it up completely to fill the blaster. As long as you recycle it. It should last you awhile. You need a decent air compressor to do the blasting. I used a craftsman 33 gal and I wore it out.

Here's some pic's of the lights on the car. The car really needs wiped down good. It has an ice residue on it. It's so cold out, It's impossible to get it off yet. Looks as if I put the lights on crooked. The bolt patterns aren't right.
