It's been a while since I played with the old Fiat, but now it's really time to get the motor freshened up.
The only issue I have is trying to figure out what is in this thing. The only markings on the block are cast into it on the intake side of the motor, over the motor mount: I see Fiat 138-AR1 and Lancia 4466158. The only reference i can find for this says it belongs in a Strada 125TC?
The head has a casting number 4371507, can't see any other identification, which seems to say it's off a late fuel injected Spider.
I believe it's a standard 2L TC, but was just wondering if there's anything I should be wary of.
Any thoughts as to the block origin would be appreciated.

Mike:
look further down the block, on or next to the oil-filter mouting pad, above the motor-mount: you'll see a code stamped (not cast) into it. that'll be the descriptor on the block.

Re: Engine Identification
Thanks, I finally found it.
Engine: 132-C3 .03 1
Cylinder Head: 4371507
Seems to be a standard 80's 2l fuel injected motor and head. Doesn't look like anyones messed with it yet, who knows this may be it's first rebuild.

Re: Engine Identification
I was curious if there is any correlation between the numbers stamped on the block and the VIN. I would like to know if my car still has the original motor, please let me know if there is a way to tell.

DOHC 1995cc
bore/84.0mm
stroke/90.0mm
C/R =8.1:1
valve timing=5-53/53-5
F.I. California
HP = 102
That head casting # is also consistent with this motor series.

Re: Engine Identification
Is there a list somewhere that deciphers the numbers stamped there telling what numbers mean what engines?
