I am asking about the seal between the rear side quarter windows and the top, the window weatherstrip and the top have Velcro type material, but they don't really connect together. There is a small gap at the bottom only, and the Velcro surfaces do not get close enough to connect. Do you think I need a new weatherstrip piece here, is this available? Any help would be appreciated, since convertibles are new to me.
How effective is a properly installed top & new seals at stopping water from entering a Spider? I have not had my car out in the rain yet, and I would like to know what to expect for next summer.

That velcro is all you get and it doesn't seal perfectly at the bottom. But it's good enough to keep the rain out. If you have a replacement top, the fit might be a little off I suppose. Some people have trouble with a tiny leak at the front bow where it meets the windshield frame, but generally the tops work well.

Peter is right in that the seal is not perfect, however the "tub" on the inside will catch water leaking into the car and if the drains are not plugged, I don't find it much of an issue. Is a bit noisy though at hwy speeds.
