78 radiator swap 71 radiator????

Help. I have found a brand new 1971 radiator on craigslist for 50.00 bucks.its a bit of a different style but I think it would bolt up. The fan runs the opposite way but I think I have clearance..my 1978 radiator has rusted threw on the bottom support and is shot. I was wondering if anybody had a bit more insite on this. The 1971 radiator is a beuty and I think the guy is asking a great price. Anyways thanks and happy holidays.

not an expert here, but if your 71 had a 1438, then the radiator will be smaller. May want to aske the seller to put a tape measure on it to see how much different it really is. BTW, I grew up in Spokane and still have some insane relatives there.

71 radiator is the same with a 1438 or a 1608. 68 would be different

It may still be used. According to my Fiat parts book, it is showing the same radiator for 70-85. The filler neck may be on the right vs the middle, but it should fit.

70-85 is wrong, the rads got wider in 79

Yes the filler port is on the right side and the fan is mounted on the other side im gonna buy it and see what happens I will let u all know if it don't fit I may be posting a very nice 1971 radiator for sale or trade happy holidays
