Just bought a great 2000...got a great deal, have done alot of work getting it in shape. I have two questions someone may have an answer to: How do I get a glued on shift knob off so I can replace it with a new one? Also, I have a new clear clock face but don't know if I can get the old one off and I don't want to bust the clock because it works.
Any help? Thanks!

Hi there, wecome.
Did Santa leave the car under the tree
Anyway the wooden shift knob unscrews from the chromed stem. There is a steel insert in the knob the stem srews into.
As for the clock.. some with patience might give it a go or most here goto a member that will do that kind of thing for you for, I think, a reasonable cost. Radiopilot is his name here.

First item: get a really big hammer. LOL If it is wood, may be able to split it with a chisel. May want to try untreading it and see if the glue breaks at the thread.
2nd item: know many that have done this. I've never been able to do it successfully. carefully spread the crimp on the back of the bezel ring. a small flat screwdriver would be my choice. the clock set knob threads on. The hard part is recrimping. I've tried pliers before and have left marks. If i did it again, I would set the clock face down on a flat soft surface. (wood covered with masking tape. gently tap the crimp back into place with a soft drift. One of our brothren does this for others. Inquire on mirafiori.
