82 turbo

Post by geogallo »

I have owned my Fiat for 25 yrs . 2 yrs ago my turbo started to talk to me !!!!! So I sent it out to a shop to have it looked at ..They sent it back and said it was junk !!!! I tried to find a replacement well thats when I found out that trying to find replacement was like trying find hens teeth!!!! , well I did locate one for 2k ,but thought that was a bit high.
I went in and machined the surface that was damaged and made new bearings .. It worked ok for a while , but started to leak oil , could see blue smoke when shifting gears. I pulled it off again and sent it out to another shop and again they said it was junk ,but they could solve my problem for about $ 1550.00 .. I was about ready to say ok ,but I wanted some questions answered before saying OK to do it. I waited 3 days and no reply so I click on Ebay and put turbo # in and up pops this new turbo for $200 dollars
I feel that XMas came about a month early for me .. The Fiat is back feeling as it did 25yrs ago , wish I could do the same for my self !!!!!!!

Good Job! And you have enough let over to buy seven more. You never know what you'll find unless you do a little research. That calls for a splurge of something you've always wanted for your car.
Check this stuff out.

There is an '81 Turbo parts car on ebay right now for $600 and it looks like the turbo is still intact (though may not be in any better condition than yours).
