New top won't go down like before
New top won't go down like before
Ok, new top was installed by top shop and won't go all the way down. Sticks up about 10" above the rear trunk. The old one went all the way down. I don't want to force it down and possibly ruin the top. Any ideas?

I think I'd be taking it back to the shop and asking them what the problem is.

I did and we got it to go down much closer but I think the problem is it's NEW and it's only 60 degrees out. I think it will be easier when it hits 70 or 80 and has been sitting in the sun. Can't see what else as it's installed correctly and a factory made top for the car. If it doesn't work correctly I will take it back again and see what we need to do. But it's really stiff so I think that is most of the problem.courtenay wrote:I think I'd be taking it back to the shop and asking them what the problem is.

Yes, I also remove the Velcro to lower it. I do think it will be better when broken in a little and warmer weather. Just kind of freaked me out because the old top went down really easy but it had no back glass and was really old.grittracing wrote:I put a new top on a couple months ago and mine was realy stiff to.i have been un doing the velcro and re doing it when putting it up or down.till the top works in. goes up and down really easy with out it connected
