Hi guys,
I like the spider and hopefully will own one soon. Would like to do a restoration on a 1974 or earlier if I can find a good candidate. Some one in my area is selling a trunk rack. I want one on my future car and so was wondering if they are rare and if i should scoop it up and if so how much do you think it is worth.
Thanks
Domenic

Hi Dom,
Where are you located? Trunk racks were added on by the dealer. Certainly not a rare item. Good luck with your search. George

They aren't too hard to find. If it is good shape and not rusted and you really think you want one no harm done.
We all have different likes and dislikes. I passed on a couple spiders I was interested in when i was searching for mine just because they had a rack installed on the trunk. I don't care for them, and you can't just take them off, they leave the four holes in your trunk lid. The Spider has a very useful trunk. Much bigger than the Brit stuff from the same era.
Love the 74's and prior. My favorite years by far, though I ended up with a 76. Finding one with little rust is tough in our neck of the woods. Don't be afraid to look down south or in the southwest. I found mine in California. Shipping wasn't too bad. Check the internet classifieds every day to keep in touch with the market. Here is a great website I use all the time. It captures all the classifieds from around the country, or just your area, whatever you want:

I am located in the Toronto area. Unless the right car at the right price comes along I won't bite. I don't want to sink too much money into such a project at the moment as i have a another car that keeps me busy and broke. Here is a link to what I want my car to look like. What a piece of art.....

Welcome Dom.
Neat video clip. Well sorted car,a few euros into that I'd suspect.
Yea as mentioned, the Toronto area might be kinda difficult to find a rust free car. Andy's spiders and there is another outfit that sometimes has cars for sale that were brought up from the States. Check Craigs List and Kijiji as well. Too bad your halfway accross the country, I have a 80 FI for sale.

Nice yellow car - but I'd like to hear him rev it a little higher through the gears, for a better soundtrack on the vid.
