The old lines, grommets on the slave cylinder were brittle, and broke. Ordered new ones, how do I get them out, just pry out or the bolts on the bottom?

Re: Brake booster line replacement
They just pop out of the rubber grommets. Putting a little brake fluid on the new ones will help go in to.

Re: Brake booster line replacement
From the photo I think you are talking about the platic pieces that connect hoses from the brake fluid reservoir to the master cylinder. I had a brake fluid leak as the plastic craked because you typically have to wiggle the plastic out of the rubber fitting. When you replace the plactic grommet you may want to consider replacing your brake fluid hose as well because these crack with ages as well. I think when I did it I used 7 mm blue VW hose that you can pick up at any VW store. I'd hate for you to replace the plastic and have a brake leak at the hose because of the force that broke the plastic in the first place.

No, There are 2 different sizes of the nipples but the grommets and fittings are the same.surfingfreeman wrote:the grommets/nipples are also specific to master cylinder manufacturer so you might have issues with that..............not to be Debbie Downer

Re: Brake booster line replacement
not sure about that, i ordered some from Matt @ Midwest-Bayless and was sent grommet/nipple that did not fit
I had nipples that were at 45-degrees looks like yours are 90-degree. Below is email exchange from vendor.
"Hi,
Thanks for the email, apologies for the delays and the problems with the order.
I am not sure how those items got into the storefront but we determined a few days ago
that they were in-fact the incorrect size and have been removed.
I apologize for the problems with them, but we’ll have to issue a refund for the order
as we are out of stock on the correct size rubber grommet.
A refund will be issued ASAP.

Re: Brake booster line replacement
Do you have dimensions that describe what size grommet you need. I have some grommets in good shape from old master cylinders. Contact me if you want me to check dimensions?
