Exhaust Shop Issues
Exhaust Shop Issues
Hey Guys. I need a liitle help.
I replaced my exhaust header with one I purchased off ebay, but it doesnt have the second part, collector tube I think. I figured the muffler shop could fab something up that would work for the money I was saving.
Well, they said they could but when they looked at it they rejected it because the pipe wouldn't let the steering idle arm move, so no right hand turns.
Could someone post a picture with their 4-2-1 system from below so I can show them what I need. Or if anyone has a spare 2-1 part that would work, I am interested.
HELP!!!
P.S. No cops stopped me on the drive around town. I guess Arkansas is the home of trucks with glass packs, so they would be stopping everyone.

Its a 77 w/ a 1800 engine. It didn't have the 4-2-1 originally, but I didn't think they made any big changes between these years.
From the pictures I have seen it is going to be tight clearance with the steering. If someone could take a look at theirs with the steering at full right hand turn lock and see what it looks like clearance wise.
Thanks everyone!!

Mark do you have a picture of the top of the header. I have a header with the down pipes that slide onto the two that are ending. Is this what you have. If so if you want to pay for shipping I'd send it to you so that the muffler shop could copy it for you as I would like to keep it for my car.You can email me at abcherriges@comcast.net if this is something that would work for you.
