Hi all,
I'm changing out the transmission in my '75 for one that Mr. Erskine was kind enough to sell me.
There is a switch in the passenger side of the transmission that is triggered by the 3rd/4th shift rod.
What's it do?
Thanks
Transmission switch?

Re: Transmission switch?
1975 began the Dark Ages for Fiat, and most other cars sold in the US. That switch held open the throttle slightly when lifting off in high gears to reduce emissions caused by engine braking. A real PITA for drivability; my "Tony" disconnected it on my 131 when I complained about surging.
If you car has the carb pot removed or disconnected, then "snippen zie switchen" as Snoopy would say.

Re: Transmission switch?
Even my 72 has that decell device and the trans switch, so it did not start in 75. And it's not just emisions, it helps prevent backfiring in the exhaust.

Re: Transmission switch?
OK, yeah, in retrospect I think my '73 has one, too.
But there's something wrong with the "blamp, blamp" sound between shifts and on overrun?
