Muffler Suggestions

Post by Mark_vaughn »

Hello Everyone,

I am going to take my Spider in for a new exhaust to go with the new header soon. I want a good sound at an affordable price. Anyone have first hand knowledge to share before I let the shop sell me something.

I like a good rumble, but not really glasspack sound. I like it loud when I floor it I guess.

I never had a complaint out of my dual tipped ANSA.

My wife, on the other hand, prefers stock single tip. So, price and sound aren't always the only considerations. do you have a preference in the looks?

My dual tip ANSA with test pipe in lieu of cat sounds masculine without being obnoxious.

I haven't put the new muffler on yet. Just got the header installed today, it just points out the bottom of the engine bay at this point.

I cranked it up and it sounds like a Harley!!! I haven't taken it out on the road yet, but it should be fun. I guess I will have to get a muffler sometime though...

I only have to drive it about 3 miles to the muffler shop. So I shouldnt have cop problems.

As for the fire, lets hope that doesnt happen either!! I did get a Auto Fire Estingusher last year for the car. When I lived in South America they were standard on every car. But they also were building the original '60s VW Bug until 1993...
