looking to buy a fiat and need help

Post by jalpa024 »

Hi I’m looking at buying a 68 fiat 124 spider with the 1.6L engine but is there and advantage with a newer one, with the 1.8L or 2.0L engine? I like the looks of the older car with the bumpers and the marker lights, but I don’t wont a Fuel injection car. will all the after market engine stuff still fit the 1.6L?

Thanks

It will be hard to find a '68. They came with a 1438 (which doesn't mean it still would have one).

When you say after market engine parts, headers, carbs, intake manifolds and so on all can work with an earlier engine. Cams vary as do the HC pistons.

I prefer the older cars as well. Fuel injection isn't such a bad thing, there can be advantages to the newer cars and they can be made to look more like an older car by changing out bumpers and so on. Newer cars are easier to find as they sold more and being somewhat better cars seem to have survived in larger numbers.

You could put crabs on the new or older cars but be sure to warp them in foil and eat after about 1 hour driving time, yummy. But if that was a typo then yes you can also but a carb on it but it would not be smog legal. You would need to install a lower pressure pump and source an intake and carb setup.

You can put dual crabs on a fuel injection car, pretty much any car actually.

You want to be sure that two crabs are of the same variety, if you mix them up they tend to fight with each other.

King Crabs look the best in my opinion, but I've found the Blue Crabs hang on better at high speeds.

It also is best to stay with local varieties. Stone crabs are best in Miami, King crabs in Alaska, but in the Chesapeake Bay area, blue crabs are best.

I sure hope that's the kind of crabs you are talking about   :D
