Newbie here Seattle

I bought a 1 owner 1978 Spider with 53k miles. Its brown with Gold Cromadora rims.
My question is, is there an easy way to change a heater core??

Nice website,

Hello and welcome. Lovely city you've got there.

If you also change the valve, be aware that the new one isn't an exact replacement, and you'll need to bend one of the firewall tubes, or cut and use heater hose instead.

Otherwise, the job is eminently doable, but a real PITA. A lift to get the car and core waist-high helps, or a blanket or kneeling pad over the door sill to keep your ribs from breaking. Are you sure you don't need to refurbish the passenger seat at this time? Give you a little more wiggle room.

ps Take care in reassembling the heater fan in its enclosure. The minimal clearance provided between the fan blades and housing is for high efficiency, but its easy to get the fan misaligned, and after all your work is done, the fan sounds like an Uzi

Greetings, Rod, welcome to the forum. I'm just south of you in Federal Way. Do you have any pictures to show us? Good luck with your heater repair.
