Air Check Valves Too Small?

The exhaust air check valves which I purchased for my 79 spider were smaller than the ones currently on it. When I asked the auto store about them, they didn't show any other check valve sizes, so I am left wondering who might have the correct size? I am looking everywhere but if someone knows for sure, it would be great.

I read somewhere that they were a direct swap with the valves GM used in the 80's.
