convertible top puzzle

I replaced the convertible top on my Spider after the car was repainted. However, now the driver's side seems to be about an inch too low over the window. Sine it overlaps the window I have to roll down the window to close or open the door. The passenger side seems perfect. I can't figure out what happened. Could it be the cable that is too tight or the frame which has lost some of it's shape? Some info is very appreciated. Thanks, JimmyG

just replaced my top and kept the cables just barely tight with the top clamped down-- wasn't sure how tight to pull the cables-- i reseated the top 2 or 3 times to get it centered before glue on the front bow.. if you can find the front weatherstip seal please let me know i had to use some garage door weatherstriping for now..
