Single point distributor

Post by 74SpyderGates »

Hello,
Does anyone know if it is normal to have a single point distributor with one condenser on a 1976 Spider?
Does this cause a performance issue or is it the same like having 2?

Thanks in advance

it's usually just a means to simplify the system. Often the switching system between the two sets of points is non-functional anyway

SO it has no bearing on the car's performance?

none at all the dual points are designed to use one set of points and condenser to start the engine
the other runs during normal operation . so when you crank it over the first set are engaged then
once the engine is running and you let go of the key the other set take over .
