Dual IDF linkage help
I rebuilt the dual Webers on my 71 but ever since I've had this car, I have not been happy with the cable linkage from the original acc rod to the carbs. The cable was too short and it would bind up, but once I swapped the carbs out for the newly rebuilt ones, I'm really not happy with this setup. Does anyone have suggestions on a different way? What are you guys with dual Webers doing for linkage?

Re: Dual IDF linkage help
ill take a few pictures of my setup, it has worked flawlessly. 1977-1980 carb style valve cover mounted twist linkage. lengthened the long side arm, put a extra bend in the rod, hooks up and works perfectly no binds. im sure there are many other ways, just my idea

can you post a pic of your cable setup? I'm curious what cable and attachment you're using on the pedal end. I've been using the FI cable with a bracket bolted to the bottom of the intake between the carbs

Re: Dual IDF linkage help
I couldn't figure out how to get the linkage between a pair of Weber IDF 70 Series carbs for use on the factory Waffle manifold. SO, not only did I retain the outboard Volkswagen linkage; I took to it with some rod & tubing from Home Depot, some brackets from existing stock, a few hiam joints, a MIG welder, my permit to grow otherwise illegal plants, and a bit of quality time.
The result was this:

It works very well, and the pedal feel is very good. However, I'm still interested in how to use the factory center linkage with IDF 70 carbs on the factory Waffle manifold. I did switch out several of the carbs' components from VW to a more Twin Cam oriented configuration. Mine is not the prettiest set-up, but I'm proud of it the same way Dr. Frankenstein was proud of his creation. This motor is coming out soon, and I look forward to making it pretty...

Re: Dual IDF linkage help
that's quite a creation. To use 70 series carbs on the early flange intakes you have to shorten the throttle shafts on the carbs.
