hello
looking foward to all the info i will be needing.... i promise to allways search before asking .... i am new to fiat... found a craigslist 1981 spider 2000... waiting for bill of sale to get it registerd .. but the 5 hour ride home from where i bought it went flawlessly .... prev owner said a few things that it needed right away have been oerdered and i am awaiting shipment.... spent 10 plus hours cleaning the outside and am ready to tackle the inside this weekend.... will be replacing shocks and center support drive shaft bearing within the week..... i probably (hopefully for only a short while) wil be the dumbest person on the site..... thanks in advance for all the help previous owner said that you will be more than happy to share..... matt (very excited matt)

Hey Matt - welcome to the site. Your plan for fix up is solid, but unless you know when the timing belt was last changed, it should be #1 on your to-do list.

thanks for the timing belt advice i will look into that... as the prev owner said any questions..just call...i am in grand junction, colorado... elevation 5000 perfect fall top down weather for about another month... cars heater pumps the heat though so i will probably push that limit

Hello and Welcome. One of the interesting tidbits about the Spider is that it was derived almost unchanged from the 124 sedan. The sedan, used throughout eastern Europe as a taxicab, has a heater core the size of a hardcover book. So your Spider should be toasty, since those Moscow winters can be quite chilly!
