Hey Guys,
I have a 78 124 1800. I was working on the carb for my son. it's actually his car and my project. I noticed the screw that connects the linkage to the butterfly valve had sheard off. or at least that how it appears. Is there a screw to replace this or a creative idea on how to hook the butterfly back up? The holes look very small.
The other question is what is the downside of leaving the butterfly not connected? The carb is a factory standard 32 ADF I think have to check it when my son get backs from school tonight.
Thank
Ed

Ed,
Can you post a picure of what part you are refering to? Butterfly valve--you mean choke plate? There is a very tiny circlip, or wire clip that holds the actuating arm on the shaft.

Matt,
Wish I knew how to post a picture. Been trying for the last 30 minutes. Any idea? Checked the forum but no instructions.
Thanks

You can also seach the web with the carb number and find a diagram of all the carb pieces, then point us to the right one.
I have found that description of how to post pics is less than perfect, you have to kind of hold your tongue right.
