Hi all,
My '80 carbed Spider is running great, or so I thought. I discovered when I take off really fast, the engine cuts out for a moment and the car start bucking until I lay off the gas a bit and then it recovers. I've looked at what I think would be the most obvious things like fuel filter and plugs but I'm stumped. Does it sound like a carborator issue? Any ideas what's causing this?
It's no fun if I can't boot it once in a while.

Re: engine cuts out
I just checked out what you said and it seems my 28/32 Weber has 2 accelerator pumps, a mechanical one and a vacuum one. The mechanical one seems to operate, or at least the arm on it moves when I pull the accelerator cable but I notice the tap on the vacuum pump is capped off. That can't be right, can it? Should I connect it to another vacuum line somewhere? Where?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
