Re: Torque
Thanks for torque on main bearings. What is the torque for connecting rod What are points and plug and valve gap? Where can I get the tube and screen to an oil pump or an oil pump? Where are Fiat car shows? Thank you. I appreciate your information.
Re: Torque
Still need torque on connecting rods. Also need points and plugs and valve gap.
Re: Torque
1) You need an owner's manual and a shop manual -- preferrably more than 1 shop manual, since there are many bits of wrong information presented in the various shop manuals out there.
2) You'd get more response from the members here that frequent this site if you provided more information about yourself and your project. You're less likely to appear to be a scammer if you provide more information. Also, it helps folks understand exactly what parts may or may not be in your project car. There have been a lot of modifications performed by owners of these cars as they have passed from owner to owner through the years.
3) Some information presented by members on this site is unfortunately not accurate, not on purpose mind you, but it happens. Partially from lack of experience, partially from not understanding exactly what someone is asking for, or partially because we are human and make mistakes. All the more reason to have a shop manual for another reference.
4) You asked where are Fiat car shows. It would help to know roughly where you are located. It wouldn't do much good for me to fill you in about a car show in Germany if you are located in Arizona.
5) All my whining aside, I've looked up some of the information that you asked for:
Connecting rod bolt torque: 54 ft-lbs for M10 bolts, or 38 ft-lbs for M9 bolts. I think your 2.0 L engine (yes??) has M10 bolts for the connecting rods.
Valve gap, when measured cold: .018" Intake, .020" Exhaust
Spark plug gap, somewhat depends on the plug manufacturer specs, what coil you are using, and other details of your ignition system, but my manual suggests .023 - .027" for standard plugs and .027 - ,031" for resistance plugs
Point gap: my manual suggests .012 - .019"
Sorry about the curt reply above, . . . I hope it is of some help.

Re: Torque
Absolutely helpful - the torque as well as who I am. I live in Ohio and I have 2 Fiat spiders. I am hoping to get on running and in good condition and use the other for parts. Maybe I will get that running, too. Much of the time I live on a sail boat on the Connecticut River. Ohio is where my parents live and I have been spending a lot of time here working on my cars and trucks. I have an old RTA aluminum bus. I also have an old Cleveland Press truck, aluminum body. I have a Toyota Forerunner with snow plow. I have a Cleveland Indian truck. I also have a 1959 truck and a motorcycle. More later. Thank you for the infol.
Bruce (My mother spelled it wrong when she typed it in, but left it Burce. Can you imagine - my own mogther spelled my name wrong!)

Naaa, I can't believe anybody's mogther would do that!
There are several Forum members in the Ohio area. Maybe some of them will chime in about Fiat gatherings in that area. same thing goes for New England area.
